Strong emphasis is being placed on special programs and services that help people remain independent and safe in their own homes. Valley Alert Lifeline Society is supporting this concept with LIFELINE. Lifeline is a non-profit, Personal Emergency Response Service that links people to 24-hour emergency help at the push of a button. The Cordless Phone Communicator with voice assist and a waterproof Slimline Personal Help Button is the most advanced Personal Response System available.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM LIFELINE?
LIFELINE has proven to be valuable in helping anyone who is at risk, to live safely and securely in their home. We provide service for the “Fraser Valley Health Region” comprising the Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope and Mission hospitals. We also provide for Veteran Affairs and I.C.B.C. clients.
LIFELINE offers security, comfort and peace of mind to concerned family and friends knowing that professional help is there when it is needed. Our service is available to anyone for as long or as short a time as may be needed. Access to the AT&T language line at our monitoring centre allows us to provide our service to those whose language is other than English.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For just a little over a dollar a day you can have peace of mind and security with any of our Communicators. The monthly monitoring fee for the Cordless Phone Communicator is only $40.00, the Communicator Plus Telephone is also $40.00 a month and our traditional Communicator is only $35.00 a month. There is an additional monthly monitoring fee of $10.00 for the AutoAlert option. GST and PST are not charged. There is also a one time installation fee of $40.00. Service calls are provided at no charge by our volunteers.
COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT
Partnerships with individuals, agencies and organizations are important to the LIFELINE program. Financial contributions, volunteers and referrals of potential subscribers all come from the community. Valley Alert Lifeline has been helping the community since 1989 – It’s about people caring about each other.
